A function in which the all the family member come together and name the child (meaningful name) and place the child in jhula (cradle) on the 12th day from his/her birthday. This is very common in Hindu mythology.
Traditionally, the aunts (the father's sisters) hold the four corners of the cloth in which the baby lies. The aunts then gently swing the cloth, imitating the movement of a cradle, while the female participants continue singing traditional songs.
